Over the course of 4 days last week, from Monday, August 2, through Thursday, August 5, there were 80 trademark applications filed for Tennessee businesses.
My two favorites were THRILLBILLIES MOTO CO. and MUDDY MESS CLOTHING. Both of these trademark applications were in International Class 25 for certain types of clothing. They were both filed on an “intent to use” basis.
Other key trademark applications of the week include one for REBA’S PLACE, which is an intent to use trademark for restaurant and bar services. This was a filing by the Smith Trust Reba McEntire.
Another interesting filing was of 2 trademarks–one a standard character word mark and the other a design mark–for DOLLYWOOD’S HEARTSONG LODGE & RESORT. These filings were by The Dollywood Company DW Holding Company, LLC and Dolly Parton Productions, Inc.
The services covered by these two applications are a Gift and sundries retail store services located in resorts; Resort hotel services; Hotel, restaurant and catering services; Provision of conference, exhibition and meeting facilities; Providing social meeting, banquet and social function facilities; Resort services, namely, rental of banquet and social function facilities for weddings and special events; and Health spa services for health and wellness of the body and spirit provided in a resort setting; Spa services, namely, manicures, pedicures, facials, massage, beauty salon services, hair cutting, hair styling, nail care, skin care, makeup, and waxing provided in a resort setting.
As always, I will be back soon with another update of interesting and important trademark filings in the USPTO by Tennessee businesses.
