Today’s Tennessee Trademark Report is based on a search of the USPTO’s TESS database for the period after July 9, 2021. As of today’s date, there were 6 trademark applications filed by Tennessee businesses over the weekend period of July 10 and 11.

Here’s the breakdown by city of these 6 trademark applications with 1 in each city:

  • Thompson’s Station
  • Brentwood
  • Memphis
  • Mt. Juliet
  • Bartlett
  • Ooltewah

The most intriguing trademark application of this group was from Brentwood, Tennessee, for the standard character or word mark “The Platinum Era of Country Music.” This is an intent to use trademark application in Class 41 for the production of television and radio programs.

The applicant is Lorianne Crook-Owens, the well-known and award-winning radio and television personality (and a fellow Vandy grad and foreign language aficionado–she has a B.A. from Vanderbilt in Russian and Chinese, while I have a B.A. from Vandy in English and French). Also, as a big music fan, I am looking forward to hearing more about her plans to produce a show on the platinum era of country music.

Isn’t Tennessee a great state?
