This past Saturday, April 20, EmCare, a physician staffing company, posted an announcement online that there had been a recent data security breach affecting the personal information of approximately 31,000 patients.
It appears that the data security breach involved an unauthorized user accessing employee email accounts.
Accordingly to Modern Healthcare, email has become the primary source for the improper exposure of data in the healthcare sphere.
